Earhart

July 13, 2017

earhartI find it quite unlikely that the Japanese captured Amelia Earhart. They would know who she was, and more likely would have made publicity use from her capture than they would have kept her in secret. And even had they kept her in secret, some word of it would have leaked out after the war.

Alas, I find it par for the course that the misnamed History Channel aired a special promoting that notion, on the basis of a photograph whose date and provenance was not checked.
