Doctors’ free speech upheld, again

February 22, 2017

The 11th circuit in full panel overturned, again, a Florida law that banned doctors from asking patients about what guns they own. On obvious 1st amendment grounds. I doubt that is a common discussion in doctors’ offices. And a patient can always tell his doctor to go hang. That said, the Florida law against it is just right-wing pandering and clearly unconstitutional.

Disclaimer: I live in south Texas, and the last time a doctor asked me about a gun, it was whether I owned a shotgun to bring along on a dove hunt.
