Changing electric power
The top four new power sources for the US power grid this past year were solar, natural gas, wind, and nuclear, in that order:
Combined, wind, nuclear, hydro, and solar account for 68 percent of the new additions, making 2016 a low-carbon year for the US grid.
Coal led among the sources being retired. Both new and retired sources are deltas. I trust that those who follow my blog have the math savvy to interpret those not as current snapshots.
