Immigration vs. populists

New Scientist explains the long view of immigration, why the most developed nations need it, and other aspects, including the roots of xenophobia.

But in Britain and the US and maybe next in France, the populists and nativists are winning. The historical antecedents for the closing of a period of globalism are not pretty.
