Abortion and the single woman

March 13, 2016

Americans wrongly think abortion is less common and less safe than it actually is. Between one quarter and one third of American women will have an abortion in their lifetime. And though modern medicine has made bearing a child quite safe, there still is orders of magnitude less risk in abortion.

Texas now has an underground railroad helping women in distant parts of the state travel to cities where there still are abortion clinics. Donate here.

Rebecca Traister writes about the increasing fraction of adult women in the US who are single as a consequence of modernity and a cause of social change. Let’s hope they make it to the polls this November.
