Learning how to evaluate results quantitatively in a physics lab carries over into how people critically approach future problems, according to this study. Alas, most college students never will work through a physics lab.

Quanta has an interesting article on the incompleteness of the Navier-Stokes equations. I’ve never studied the Korteweg equation.
