Right boat, wrong crew

May 7, 2015

The Flicka is a pocket cruiser designed by Bruce Bingham, that has been selected by many single-handers for long passages. A venerable vessel, despite its somewhat questionable sailing qualities. Two California homeless gentlemen dreamed living aboard and cruising the world. Deciding to take the easy route, they absconded with a Flicka from a Morro Bay marina. They overlooked one important thing about stealing a sail boat: it’s important to know how to sail. After being grounded and abandoned by the would-be pirates, the boat was returned to its rightful owner. Likely, no worse for the wear.
