Growing older

Researchers at the Salk Institute studying Werner syndrome found that a mutated protein bollixes the way DNA is packed in the nucleus. Their paper is receiving a lot of attention because the research sheds light on ageing mechanisms.

Diets high in animal protein may not be good for young adults and the middle aged. Usual qualifications about animal models and observational studies apply. Alas, I am rapidly approaching the time in life when they may have some benefit.
