Some like it hot

Two recent studies look at our love for the hot capsicum fruit. Researchers at the University of Grenoble found that men who prefer spicy food have more testosterone, are “heroes, rogues and lovers.” It hints that is why the English are a bit put off by Mediterranean cuisine. Well, what do you expect from French food research? Researchers at the Pennsylvania State University looked at the matter a bit differently, observing that women who enjoy spicy food truly like the heat from capsaicin (cite), while men, well:

It suggests that men are merely attempting to show off when eating chillis while women may actually be enjoying the experience of the heat they produce.
