Even though Ebola is “unlikely to spread widely in rich countries with good health-care systems,” it is snowballing in parts of Africa. Rich nations should help, both because of the human tragedy in the nations struck, and because the longer the virus remains active in human populations, the more likely it will evolve into a more contagious form.

We have started. I suspect much more will be needed.
