Kids these days…

August 24, 2013

Kids these days often aren’t getting vaccinated. One consequence is a recent outbreak of measles at a megachurch near Dallas. Jennifer Raff explores some mistaken reasons parents have for not vaccinating their children. I have a simpler explanation: young parents today never suffered the measles, days and nights of fever, hoping the drying calamine would bring more relief this time.

Kids these days are in no rush to get their driver’s license. Youth unemployment is up, and cell phones and social media lessen the car’s importance as way to connect with peers. Google, not content on partnerships with car companies, is forging ahead with driver-less technology. Meaning many kids today never will need that driver’s license.
