Religion, hunting, sex

August 4, 2013

Following up on earlier discussions of Mormons who can’t swallow their church’s orthodoxy, American Conservative has a short article on doubt among church goers, and the tensions between belief and practice. Gary Gutting argues that there is as much reason to believe in Zeus as in any other god, though he doesn’t quite get to the nub of the problem with religious experience.

Pennsylvania hunters are turning to the federal courts to overturn that state’s ban on Sunday hunting.

California’s sex education is being touted for that state’s drop in teen pregnancy rates. Needless to say, Texas will not be following suit.

You can bet Zeus wouldn’t ban hunting, on any day of the week.
