Vampires, vitamins, and the heavy moon

June 23, 2013

Small towns in 19th c. New England would dig up the dead thought to be vampires, and dispatch them for good.

Think that’s silly? Many modern Americans pay good money for supplements with high doses of vitamins A, C, and E. Despite that there is evidence these are causing more harm than good.

The full moon tonight is at perigee, and so larger than usual. But its funky gravity is caused by mascons.
